Summary

This job involves leading IT projects for the Defense Logistics Agency, focusing on analyzing, designing, and implementing software systems to support military logistics and operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes but is not limited to: Coordinates, monitors, and directs the systems phases to include the plan and analyze; design, build, and test; deployment and implementation phases of the assigned Development project initiative.

Interprets functional requirements of program solutions involving the breakdown of functional processes into discrete requirements to be implemented into DLA Platforms and applications.

Advises teams of functional analysts and IT professionals in the planning, designing, training, initial fielding, operation, and maintenance of the specific applications supported and Department of War (DoW) business information technology systems in general.

Promotes, develops and maintains good working relationships with key individuals or groups and provides technical guidance, assistance, and direction in areas such as architecture, hosting, infrastructure support, capacity planning, information assurance, business continuance, and the design, configuration, and implementation of advanced computer networking.

Prepares and presents briefings to senior management, customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and related IT professionals on complex issues and technical requirements regarding assigned projects and DoD business IT systems.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Provides information technology (IT) systems analysis and engineering support for a wide range of technical and professional IT functions supporting the J8 mission of DoD-wide expertise.
  • Utilizes advanced computer architecture and hardware in combination with Commercial Off the Shelf (COT), Government Off the Shelf (GOTS), warehouse management software, transportation software, and understanding Audit Controls.
  • Manages and oversees the technical and operational aspects of the program, ensuring system performance and effectiveness aligns with DLA equities and stakeholder requirements.
  • Provides input on policies, plans, goals, or objectives for projects, programs, systems or operations.
  • Communicating and coordinating with customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors with a focus on integration with other DLA and DoW systems.
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to development teams working on enhancements.
