This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Office of Information Technology, Enterprise Architecture & Data Group, Division of Enterprise Information Management Services.
As an IT Spec (Data Mgt) referred here as an IT Specialist (Data Engineer), GS-2210-12, you will design, build, & maintain the infrastructure for collecting, storing, & transforming raw data into accessible, usable information for data scientists.

Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Designing cloud-based data platforms that support complex, multi-source datasets in enterprise or multi-system environments; 2) Developing and improving automated data pipelines in production environments, for reliability, performance, and scalability; 3) Implementing data security, governance, and compliance practices, to enforce data quality, access controls, and performance optimization within regulated environments; AND 4) Advising stakeholders by translating business or data requirements into scalable data engineering solutions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
