Base salary range: $104,604 - $135,987

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job is for an IT Director focused on data analytics in an independent office of the Environmental Protection Agency, where you'll lead a team to analyze data for audits, investigations, and efficiency improvements to help protect the environment and prevent waste or fraud.
It involves managing databases, developing tech strategies, and guiding staff to turn complex data into useful insights for reports.
A good fit would be an experienced IT leader with strong data skills who enjoys leading teams in a mission-driven government role.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
To qualify, you must have one of the following: 1 year or 52 weeks of full-time Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as (1) Managing and leading a data analytics staff responsible for developing, coordinating, conducting, and overseeing predictive data analytics, statistical sampling, data modeling, and data mining for supporting audit and investigative oversight projects; (2) Proficiently writing in programing languages such as SQL, Python, or R; (3) Managing, maintaining, and improving a data analytics environment that is composed of on-premise database solutions such as SQL Server, ArcGIS Knowledge Server, Power BI Report Server; (4) Developing and executing technology strategies and solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of both the directorate and the OIG; (5) Leading, developing, and drafting oversight management implication reports for internal and external publication; and Managing and leading the process of collecting, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing large and disparate datasets for oversight projects.
Evidence of the above Competencies and Specialized Experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held.

Responsibilities The ideal candidate will perform the following duties: Manages and maintains on-premise databases within the Data Analytics Environment.
Must have a strong working knowledge of SQL databases. Must have a strong working knowledge of Power BI Report Server and ArcGIS Knowledge Server. Ability to write and code in programming languages.
Develops and implements technology strategies that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of OIG data processes. Lead and motivate staff to accomplish OIG mission goals and objectives.
Assisting with budget formulation.
