Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing IT support for military recreation programs at Fort Riley, Kansas, by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing systems, and helping users with databases to keep everything running smoothly for soldiers and their families.

Key Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of data processing, system installation, and management principles from roles like computer operator or program analyst
  • OR a two-year degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, or related field with programming coursework
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving IT problems with hardware (CPU, monitors, printers) and software
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain customer hardware and software
  • Skills in providing training and instruction to users to improve performance
  • Familiarity with operating Vermont Systems databases like RecTrac and CYMS 10.3 (highly preferred)

Full Job Description

This position is with NAF Support Services - Fort Riley, Kansas. Support the team that provides MWR programs for our military and their families!

By offering Information Technology services, diagnosis and troubleshooting, your contributions will keep the systems online and available.

Recreation and business activities rely on IT services to get the job done everyday! Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience that provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions, system installation and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.

Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

OR Completion of a two year degree with a major course of study in computer science, information science, information systems management, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field.

Highly Preferred Qualification: 1) 1 year experience on how to operate Vermont System databases RecTrac & CYSM 10.3 2) 1 year experience in IT diagnosing/troubleshooting (CPU, monitors, printers, etc) 3) Current A+ and Security+ certifications.

  • Provide technical support duties to customer support personnel by diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents.
  • Researches, evaluates, and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain customer hardware and software and provide training and instruction to enhance user performance.
  • Provides training and instruction to enhance user performance. Set system security levels based on under performance and appropriate regulations.
  • Develops and documents standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation procedures and policies. Assists end-user to properly operate Rec Trac and CYMS databases.
