The manager of the Web Development Team, will lead, mentor, and inspire a highly-skilled, high-performing team specializing in website development in an Angular / Java platform.
The team also provides guidance around digital standards, usability, mobile-first development, and accessibility.
This leader will ensure the team successfully supports the Department of Workforce Services by driving adoption of best practices across our development environments.
The manager will also collaborate with our stakeholders, serving as the primary internal point of contact, the manager will define processes, establish security protocols, and oversee user management.
This role requires a leader who leads by example, is willing to actively listen, and is dedicated to fostering a supportive culture where team members feel their voice matters.

This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office (2 days a week required in office and any mandatory in-office meetings) and remote work days (work must be performed in Utah).

The Websites and Digital Experience (DXP) Team operates as an enterprise service and standards advisor within the State of Utah, Division of Technology Services.

Proven experience with managing large-scale IT operations and or related technologies.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams effectively.
Proven expertise in end-to-end fiscal management, overseeing annual operating budgets. Adept at performing complex variance analysis, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and reallocating resources to ensure all projects remain profitable and aligned with agency financial goals.
Delivering exceptional customer service by transforming standard transactions into long-term partnerships. Proactive problem-solving, and the consistent delivery of high-value solutions.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
Expertise in building high-performance cultures by identifying individual strengths and aligning them with organizational goals.
Mentorship that creates personalized development pathways that empower staff to take ownership of their careers, resulting in increased retention, internal promotions, and a robust leadership pipeline.
IT Operations leadership experience in enterprise network services, data center operations, identity and access management, and cloud technologies.
Government or public-sector experience.
