The State of Utah Trust Lands Administration (TLA) is seeking a talented and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Full-Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end applications. This position is a mixture of new product development, working with existing code bases, and helping with custom reports. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a strong attention to detail, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills and works well with a small team and can communicate effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.

  • Develop and maintain scalable and responsive web applications using modern technologies.

  • Write clean and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality software.

  • Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the software development industry.

  • Assist users with ad-hoc query reports and information gathering.


Minimum Qualifications:
The model candidate for this position is someone who:
  • Proven work experience as a Full-Stack Developer, showcasing successful project completions.

  • Strong proficiency in front-end development languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React/Angular/Vue.js.

  • Proficiency in back-end development languages and frameworks, with a focus on Java and Spring Framework.

  • Working experience with SQL or T-SQL.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Understands the importance of well-written code and testing.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

  • Understanding of security principles and best practices in web application development.

  • ArcGIS or other spatial analysis and mapping platforms.

The Agency
The foundation of the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration is to serve as fiduciary of Utah's 3.4 million acres of trust lands. Unlike public lands that are held in public domain, trust lands are parcels of land held in trust to support 12 state institutions, but primarily the K-12 public education system. SITLA is constitutionally mandated to generate revenue from trust lands to build and grow permanent endowments for these institutions, which were designated by Congress in 1894.
