Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and supporting IT cybersecurity efforts focused on networks and information security, including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network systems for government projects.

It requires working as a senior expert to guide teams, set priorities, and ensure secure operations in a defense finance environment.

Key Requirements

In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Providing support services and assisting in resolving complex Information Technology (IT) technical problems in the realm of Networks including installing, maintaining, modifying and testing operating systems and associated network software/hardware products for Mid-Tier platform, Enterprise Local Area Network, and Wide Area Network development projects.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

  • Serves as a technical authority and senior project leader for network interfaces in installing, maintaining, modifying, and testing operating systems and/or all associated network software products for Mid-Tier platforms.
  • Participates in decision makers in setting program goals and establishing priorities to support the organizational missions.
  • Performs and manages staff assignments related to project planning, monitoring and/or coordinating IT systems analysis and programming functions.
  • Mentors and trains less experiences network and system monitoring and cybersecurity personnel.
