THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) TITLE 5, Position Description Number T5895000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 5 Excepted Service, will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be candidates who match through the Priority Placement Program (PPP).
The SECOND area of consideration will be Veterans' Preference (VP) eligible. The THIRD area of consideration will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
The FOURTH area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The FIFTH area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The SIXTH area of consideration will be U.S.
Citizens.
BASIC EDCUCATION REQUIREMENT: MUST have a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
(OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT MUST BE SUBMITTED) SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 LEVEL - MUST possess the specialized experience, training, or education for the GS-12 Level in specific cyberspace actions to include cyberspace defense, cyberspace operations in support of intelligence operations, cyberspace operational preparation of the environment, and cyberspace attacks; creating and implementing force development and management plans that ensured mission essential manpower, career development, and long-range mission and force development plans met the unit's mission and commander's intent.

As a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) TITLE 5, GS-2210-12, you will serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO), ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified information systems, networks and data through the enhancement of Department of Defense (DoD) information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tools.
Serves as a technical expert and focal point for Information Technology (IT) security and information assurance policies, planning, programs, initiatives, certification and accreditation.
Provides advice and assistance regarding security aspects of processing, storage, retrieval, transmission, and access of classified and unclassified information.
Administers and monitors installation compliance with all applicable DoD, USAF, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and Air National Guard (ANG) Information Assurance regulations and policies.
Administers and maintains the organization certification & accreditation process for assigned SCIF(s) using the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and coordinates, compiles and maintains all certification & accreditation documentation for appropriate accreditation authorities.
Evaluates and assesses vulnerabilities of classified network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, switches, attached cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators.
Analyzes equipment and software reliability and suitability for vulnerability assessment utilization. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list
