Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading cybersecurity efforts for naval air systems projects, ensuring that security is built into every stage of developing and maintaining IT systems from design to ongoing use.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11/12 in implementing and managing cybersecurity programs
  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies and instructions
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity into all phases of IT acquisition, upgrade, or modification programs (design, development, testing, fielding, operation/sustainment)
  • Ability to lead and guide cybersecurity personnel in Integrated Product Teams (IPT) or labs
  • Skills in developing assessment and authorization plans, evaluating risks, recommending corrective actions, and preparing reports
  • Familiarity with information systems security officer (ISSO) roles for applications, networks, and stand-alone systems

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-04 (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Implementing and managing an effective and comprehensive Cyber Security program.

Examples of qualifying experience may look like: Assisting customers with information/analytical support/guidance on Cyber Security requirements for proposed IT acquisitions from earliest stages of development, through the acquisition milestone process and follow-on support; Ensuring Cyber Security requirements are fully integrated into all phases of the acquisition, upgrade, or modification programs, including initial design, development, testing, fielding, and operation/sustainment.

  • You will serve as Lead Information Systems Security Officer for multiple Acquisition Program Integrated-Product Teams (IPT) and or research Development Test and Engineering Laboratories.
  • You will lead and guide other Cybersecurity personnel within the IPT/Labs to ensure information systems (IS) or platform information technology (PIT) systems are in compliance with DoD/Navy Cybersecurity policies and instructions.
  • You will ensure Cybersecurity requirements are fully integrated into all phases of the acquisition, upgrade, or modification programs, including initial design, development, testing, fielding, and operation/sustainment.
  • You will develop plans for the information or platform IT system assessment and authorization, evaluate assessments, recommend appropriate corrective action when deficiencies are identified and prepare required reports.
  • You will ensure the development, review, endorsement and maintenance of cybersecurity for the assessment and approval documentation in accordance with DoD and DON policy for all applications, networks, and/or stand-alone systems.
