What you will do:

You will provide oversight and hands-on support for SCDOR’s technology assets and services, with a focus on security, inventory accountability, user support, and compliance with established standards and regulations.


Primary job duties include:

  • Providing advanced inventory control and tracking of SCDOR technology assets, including computers, printers, scanners, monitors, peripherals, and related equipment
  • Conducting biannual physical and virtual inventories of technology assets and assigning equipment to users within the inventory and ticketing systems
  • Providing technical assistance and support for computer systems (hardware/software) via phone, walk-ins, and email, with a focus on safeguarding taxpayer data
  • Documenting, tracking, and resolving Service Desk requests in the ticketing system and escalating issues when necessary
  • Reviewing and approving technology-related bills, invoices, and transactions, including telecom services, and coordinating follow-up on discrepancies
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation and procedures, and recommending process improvements

Requirements

Either:

  • A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems OR
  • An associate’s degree in a related field OR
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field


Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.


Relevant degrees include business related and IT related degrees.

Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Service Desk environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows 10 and higher Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, Outlook, PC hardware, printers, scanners, computer peripherals and mobile devices.
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week after one year of employment with SCDOR.
