Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting and improving the payroll system within Oracle Cloud software for a government IT department, including fixing issues, testing updates, and ensuring everything runs smoothly for payroll and human resources.

It also requires helping with other related HR modules and working closely with teams to meet business needs.

A good fit would be someone with experience in payroll or HR systems who is detail-oriented, quick to learn, and comfortable with occasional night or weekend work.

Key Requirements

  • Three or more years of combined experience as a business analyst, HR/payroll consultant, or technical/functional work in Oracle EBS R12, Oracle Cloud, or similar ERP systems
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to perform application troubleshooting, patch testing, and develop test plans and cases
  • Skills in preparing requirement analysis, solution design documents, and attending requirements gathering sessions
  • Experience providing primary production support for Payroll module and backup support for HCM modules like Absence and Time & Labor
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in a 24x7 IT environment
  • Passing status from Metro Nashville Police Department background check and Tennessee residency within six months

Full Job Description

This position will provide primary application and functional/technical support for the Payroll module in Oracle Cloud, as well as backup support for other HCM modules in Oracle Cloud. This role works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support accurate payroll and human resources operations and maintain data integrity across the Oracle Cloud platform. Typical duties include analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and working with technical leads to implement and upgrade any custom and vendor supported applications, databases, and infrastructure.

ITS is a 24x7 information technology shop. Applicant must be willing and available to perform duties as required by the job. This may include work on nights, weekends and holidays.

Metro Information Technology Services is the central IT provider for the 60 departments and agencies of the Metro Government with a mission to “lead the delivery of exceptional technology, service, and solutions.” ITS staff members deliver 33 separate service lines to our partners within Metro Government. These services support the delivery of services to Nashville’s residents and visitors. Requirements

  • Perform application troubleshooting, patch testing, and application testing, including the development of test plans and test cases.
  • Prepare Requirement Analysis and Solution Design documents as directed.
  • Attend all requirements gathering sessions to understand business requirements of current state vs future state Procurement and financial modules.
  • Ensure the application meets the usability requirements of project stakeholders.
  • Maintain configuration and process documentation, as well as training documents as needed.
  • Coordinate with business group for process improvements.
  • Coordinate with business to evaluate upgrades and technology opportunity improvements.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly application health checks for data and application integrity.
  • Maintain enterprise data through change review process.
  • Help with troubleshooting of access and application issues.
  • Provide 1st or 2nd level support for application and/or process issues.
  • Perform application functional user and process flow documentation.
  • Provide primary production support for Payroll module in Oracle Cloud and backup support of HCM modules such as (Absence and Time & Labor).

Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of combined experience as a business analyst, a consultant in human resources, payroll, and/or technical/functional experience in the areas of Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite R12), Oracle Cloud or another comparable ERP system.
