Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and tracking inventory for naval aircraft programs, including counting assets, ensuring accurate records, and supporting audits to keep everything accountable.

It's a good fit for someone detail-oriented with experience in supply tracking or basic administrative work, especially if you've handled organizing files or solving inventory issues in any sector.

Entry-level federal experience isn't required, as volunteer or private sector roles can qualify.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05, including assisting with inventory control, distribution, and property systems
  • Experience aiding in inventory accounting for shop floor personnel and conducting required counts
  • Ability to perform physical wall-to-wall and floor-to-book inventories to validate property existence and ensure financial accountability
  • For GS-05 entry: Three years of general experience, including one year equivalent to GS-04, demonstrating problem analysis, work planning, and effective communication
  • Familiarity with supply inventory compliance, file organization, and investigating inventory discrepancies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for coordinating with internal and external departments
  • Ability to retain key supporting documents for up to ten years and provide them for audits

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with various inventory control/management tasks to include but not limited to coordination and assist, distribution and generation of Accountable Property System of record; 2) Aiding with providing inventory, and accounting for all assets for the individual shop floor personnel; conducting and counting inventory when required; and 3) Effectively execute physical wall to wall and Floor-to-Book Inventory to validate existence and completeness of all property within area of responsibility to ensure Financial Accountability.

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) Planning and organizing work; and 3) Communicating effectively orally and in writing.

Examples may include but not limited to: performing regular supply inventory in compliance with set regulations; retaining and organizing files related to supply management; and investigating and documenting the cause of inventory discrepancies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for inventorying each Program and Platform assets and materials to meet both the internal and external audit requirements.
  • You will align the provided proper resources to manage the inventory requirements.
  • You will complete and assist with a 100% Book-to-Floor and Floor-to-Book Wall-to-Wall annual inventory of accountable assets and aircraft fixed and vertical.
  • You will communicate, track, analyze, and monitor regularly with internal and external Departments to resolve Stock in Transit weekly.
  • You will will retain Key Supporting Documents (KSD) for up to ten years and have available when requested by internal or external audit teams.
