Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and supporting a team that helps unemployed workers find new jobs quickly through a state program, while ensuring everything follows the rules and improves over time.

A good fit would be someone with experience in workforce services who enjoys coaching others and staying on top of employment laws.

It's an internal role for current employees at the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, based in Columbia.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to perform essential functions
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for Unemployment Insurance and RESEA Program administration
  • Ability to plan, organize, and monitor staff activities for high-quality customer service and process improvement
  • Knowledge of reemployment issues under the Wagner-Peyser Act and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
  • Ability to provide technical support, coaching, and training to RESEA staff using tools like appointment scorecards
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and clear communication skills in person, writing, and orally
  • Familiarity with agency policies, basic employment and wage laws, and service delivery models

Job Description
Would you like to make an impact on South Carolina’s workforce? In conjunction with Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) management, the RESEA Senior Analyst will plan, organize and monitor staff activities to ensure high quality customer service, continuous process improvement, and compliance with program requirements. The selected individual for this role will report to Robert E. David Building in Columbia. This position will also assist with implementation of alternative interventions and service delivery strategies as needed. Will utilize RESEA appointment scorecards to provide Technical Support, assistance, coaching, and training to RESEA staff. Knowledgeable and reemployment issues related to the Wagner-Peyser (WP) Act and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); agency policies, procedures and service delivery models related to ES; basic employment and wage laws and guidelines; and office

Requirements

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree and relevant training and experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.

Qualifications

Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to Unemployment Insurance and the administration of the RESEA Program. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in written and oral form.
