This job is for a lead instructor at a technical college who trains students and guides other instructors in aerospace manufacturing, specifically focusing on sealants for a Boeing project.
The role involves delivering hands-on classes, managing team qualifications, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards, and handling classroom logistics.
It's a good fit for someone with teaching experience in technical fields, strong leadership skills, and comfort working with hazardous materials in a manufacturing setting.
This position is currently limited to TTC employees assigned to the Boeing Project.
As a Lead Instructor, the primary responsibilities are to educate students to standard proficiency levels in aerospace manufacturing focusing in the Sealant area and to provide guidance and leadership to instructors within their discipline.
Specific duties include: Act as an overall subject matter expert (SME) for their functional area. Accountable for overall monitoring of resources.
Evaluate courseware and channel feedback to Boeing and liaise with Boeing SME for respective courses. Ensure team is in compliance with readySC and Boeing requirements.
Coordinate with the Master Scheduler and approve Instructor leaves. Mentor, coach and evaluate Instructors.
Secure qualification in accordance with the Boeing Company standards as well as conduct training in compliance with the aforementioned applications as directed. Manage qualification progress of team.
Deliver courses as written including check-in of participants. Ensure all materials are in the classroom, checking of pre-requisites and pre-work.
Clean-up classrooms at end of class, process all necessary paperwork for courses within the established deadline for the course.
Deliver attendance within the established deadlines and work with students in both the classroom and lab setting.
A bachelor's degree and relevant training and development experience or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Previous experience should include teaching in a classroom environment or other group training setting. Adhere to compliance standards for maintaining proprietary information.
Familiarity with manufacturing production environments, engineering drawings, manufacturing management software, curriculum development and web-based processes is highly desirable.
The role may require daily handling of chemicals, solvents, and hazardous materials including, but not limited to, MPK, alcohols, Alodine, sealants, composites and more, while prioritizing safety.
Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required is mandatory.
Candidates should be able to work independently, be self- directing, have good verbal and written skills, and be available to work different shifts.
Ability to conduct training while standing for 3 hours or more training sessions.
