This job involves leading the design, development, and management of a secure data warehouse system for naval air operations, ensuring it handles critical data efficiently and securely.
You'll work hands-on with computer systems, networks, and software while collaborating with teams to meet mission needs.
It's ideal for an experienced engineer or scientist with strong technical skills in data processing and security, who enjoys solving complex problems in a high-stakes environment.
You will serve as a the Subject Matter Expert Chief Engineer for the Exodus Data Warehouse in the RANGES/TRGTS OPS/INSTRMTN & LABS GROUP of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
In Addition to meeting the basic educational requirement: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Architecting and developing robust data processing solutions on UNIX-based platforms, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical systems.
2) Implementing and managing multi-level security (MLS) environments using trusted operating systems, such as Solaris with Trusted Extensions or SELinux, to enforce stringent data protection policies.
3) Interfacing with diverse customers and stakeholders to translate needs into technical requirements and clearly articulate complex system capabilities.
4) Defining and managing full-cycle development and test environments to drive continuous hardware and software technology improvement projects.
