Summary

This job involves leading teams of engineers and technicians on complex projects related to hydropower and industrial facilities, such as designing, building, and maintaining power generation equipment.

About the Position: As a technical lead you will be responsible for coordination and integration of projects ranging in complexity, involving large multi-disciplinary product delivery teams.

Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service with leading engineering product delivery teams on projects/products related to specialized hydropower and industrial equipment, and/or operations and maintenance practices for power generation and other industrial facilities.

A Professional Engineering or Architectural Certification may be required. Major Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, assigning tasks to engineers, technicians, and other staff.
  • Direct the technical development and review of design reports, contract plans, and specifications for engineering projects.
  • Support Project Managers by providing and managing the scope, schedule, and budget for assigned tasks.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for team members, stakeholders, and customers to resolve issues and coordinate changes.
  • Manage the development of new engineering documents in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a representative in the procurement process, serving on source selection panels and evaluating bidders.
  • Coordinate and observe project testing, determine corrective measures, and author reports on findings.
  • Perform field inspections to assist in developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing processes and procedures to improve program effectiveness.
  • Communicate with manufacturers, contractors, and other agencies regarding project design and the latest industry methods.
