Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an engineer for the Navy to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of aircraft systems, ensuring they remain safe and operational.

You'll solve complex technical problems, manage teams and processes, and coordinate with contractors and experts.

It's a great fit for experienced mechanical or aerospace engineers who enjoy tackling challenging projects in a government defense setting.

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in engineering

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Def Ind Base Facilities & Major Range/Test Facilities Base in DOD.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying fundamental and diversified professional engineering concepts, theories, and practices to achieve engineering objectives with versatility, judgment, and perception; 2) Analyzing/recommending the preferred engineering solution to resolve complex aircraft deficiencies; 3)Adapting and applying methods and techniques of related engineering disciplines; and 4)Organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating data in the solution of engineering problems.

  • You will oversee the development and management of products and services required to sustain operation and ensure airworthiness.
  • You will manage the requirements for qualified personnel, processes, equipment and ensure requirements are translated into sound engineering products
  • You will investigate and facilitate systems engineering objectives between various contractor and government organizations.
  • You will prepare correspondence, technical reports and instructions for submittal to leadership.
  • You will determine the best approach to resolve complex technical engineering problems while working closely with the technical domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
