Job Description

Summary

This part-time night shift internship involves helping monitor offenders using GPS technology, communicating with law enforcement agents via radio and phone, and supporting investigations in a secure environment.

It's ideal for students studying criminal justice who are detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and able to work evenings, weekends, and up to 30 hours per week while maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • High school diploma with relevant program experience, or a bachelor's degree substituting for experience
  • Active full-time student pursuing an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
  • Ability to work part-time up to 30 hours per week, including nights and weekends

  • Proficiency in using computers, telephones, email, and other technical tools
  • Assistance with electronic offender monitoring, GPS alerts, radio communications, and absconded investigations

Full Job Description



Location: Columbia/ITAC (Intelligence Tracking & Communications)

*Part Time. Up to 30 hours per week to include working weekends.

This is an Intern position. The SCDPPPS Intelligence Tracking and Communications (ITAC) Center is located within a secured, information-sensitive environment. Security Awareness Training will be provided and the highest-level of confidentiality is expected. The intern will assist Intelligence Tracking and Communications staff with electronic offender monitoring and contacting Agents/Responders to address GPS surveillance alerts. Assists ITAC staff with radio communications and absconded investigations. Assists with computer, telephone, email, and other technical operations for the purpose of assisting various PPP staff and other law enforcement entities.

Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Qualifications

Active full-time student pursuing an Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree within the Criminal Justice Program.
