The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an intelligence and modeling & simulation (M&S) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the 17th Training Group's Emerging Technology Team (ETT).
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).
The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level.
The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for series 0132.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.
Examples of creditable experience include: Professional knowledge of the operational intelligence processes and duties of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) professional across the USAF and Joint forces at tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
This work also requires comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of the real-world information technology environment that ISR professionals operate within and understands the appropriate modeling and simulation technical tools and systems to emulate that real-world intel operations environment.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
OR To view qualifying experience click on the following link: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0100/intelligence-series-0132/ KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the operational DoD and National Intelligence systems used to support the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence operations and the inter-relationships of technical, scientific, geographic, financial, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in foreign and domestic areas that directly or indirectly affect national security.
Knowledge of Air Force intelligence functional disciplines, their inter-relationships, as well as intelligence requirements, organizations and policies, specifically all-source intelligence functions, Air Operations Center and Wing Operations Center operations, intelligence support to Combat Air Forces, and the role of intelligence in contingency and expeditionary environments, and AETC technical and advanced intelligence training administration, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of intelligence Community (IC) policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research and operations planning, collection target analysis, and/or other intelligence-related activities; knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include data analysis and database manipulation.
Knowledge and practical application of computer systems, network operations and design, cyber security requirements, and integration of software/hardware into new and existing training and operational networks; knowledge of the practical application of modeling and simulation (M&S) concepts and DoD M&S systems of record, as well as military exercise and scenario development.
Skill in fusing requirements for intelligence operations training with intelligence modeling & simulation (M&S) software and operational tools of record to produce functional concepts of operations for systematic implementation and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings.
Ability to analyze problems and to develop timely, economical, and robust technical and operational solutions to meet intelligence training requirements.
Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and provide authoritative assessments, utilizing operational experience, seasoned judgement, professional acumen, evaluate, present, and advocate for proposed positions effectively through oral and written communication.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI),other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the AirForce Civilian Testing Program.
Employees must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Conducts and coordinates activities pertaining to intelligence operations within the training environment. Recognized as the scientific, technical, and organizational expert in this field.
Develops concepts of operations (CONOPS) and other project planning documents for exercise integration projects.
Develops acquisition, installation, and sustainment strategies for all intelligence exercise-linked software and hardware.
Represents 17th Training Group as a recognized subject matter expert on current trends and capabilities of emerging technologies for intelligence training.
Prepares and presents expert briefings on the training capabilities of the 17 TRG's use of operational Intelligence tools, Systems of Record, modeling & simulation to AETC, DoD, and national level agencies.
Functions as key member of the 17th Training Group Emerging Technology Team. Prepares and disseminates information on 17 TRG M&S and exercise support objectives and taskings throughout the 17 TRG.
