Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an intelligence specialist for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, where you'll analyze and prepare reports on threats like cyber attacks, terrorism, and criminal activities to help Navy leaders make informed decisions.

You'll review and edit intelligence documents to ensure they're clear and useful, while also developing guidelines for how intelligence is produced and shared.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601.

This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job opportunity announcement has a first cut-off 50 applicants.

GG-13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing analytical tasks relative to cyber, counterintelligence, counter-terrorism, and/or criminal intelligence matters relating to political, economic, social, cultural, geographic, or technical issues.

Researching, selecting, and compiling intelligence information in preparation of formal, written products. Identifying complex intelligence gaps and evaluating the intelligence collected.

  • You will be responsible reviewing and editing NCIS finished intelligence products, to include Threat Assessments, Threat Awareness Messages, in-depth Intelligence Assessments, and NCIS Annual Intelligence Reports.
  • You will be responsible for reworking draft publications to ensure clear, concise, cohesive, and accurately-written intelligence products.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring stakeholders and senior DON leadership receive actionable intelligence in a timely manner to mitigate threats.
  • You will develop editorial policies, production team standard operating procedures, and associated training for NCIS as the authoritative expert on intelligence production processes and standards.
  • You will be responsible for disseminating all assigned finished intelligence products to warfighters, policymakers, and other DON stakeholders through a variety of electronic means.
