The primary purpose of this position is as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state AFRC' daily operations, training, & readiness missions.

Also, trains reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth.

*********THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN (ART) POSITION*********** ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service.

In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the Air Force (AF0 Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

They are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay.

Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.

1N07 - MSgt (E8) This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).

The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level.

The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge (as would be acquired through a pertinent baccalaureate educational program or equivalent in work experience) of the principles, concepts, and methodology of the intelligence career field such that it permits independent performance of recurring assignments that are somewhat complex; a practical knowledge of a wide range of analytical principles, concepts, and practices relevant to the intelligence career field typically gained through work experience; knowledge of force protection, classified materials handling, Aerospace Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (AIPB), Predictive Battlespace Awareness (PBA) analysis, mobility/deployment preparations, requirements and materials such as Combat Mission folders, AFRC intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) computer systems/software; command, control and communications protection, intelligence data collection, validation and production procedures: and project management techniques.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Knowledge of intelligence procedures, methodology, techniques and strategies including but not limited to: force protection: classified materials handling; Aerospace Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (AIPB) and Predictive Battlespace Awareness (PBA) analysis: mobility/deployment preparations, requirements and materials such as Combat Mission folders; AFRC intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR)computer systems/software: command.

control and communications protection: intelligence data collection, validation and production procedures; and project management techniques. 2.

Broad knowledge of military structure, political affairs and history regarding assigned area when analyzing intelligence data.

Knowledge of and ability to develop intelligence career field training programs and conduct training and testing. 3.

Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of real or potential security threats to or problems for program operations. 4.

Ability to plan detailed and complex studies, anticipate and solve problems, and to collect, organize. and interrelate large amounts of diversely formatted data drawn from a wide variety of sources. 5.

Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit. 6.

Ability to critically evaluate sources of information and establish validity of facts. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

under both normal and high stress conditions associated with emergency situations. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: 1. This position has been identified as a drug testing designated position.

The incumbent of this position may be selected for random drug testing and be subject to reasonable suspicion testing and safety mishap or accident testing. 2.

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.

Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 3.

Incumbent must meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to permit full participation in unit training assemblies. 4.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

1.

Performs assigned operational intelligence research and analysis and trends and based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations.

Briefs the findings and estimates of these special assignments to superiors, planners, and policy makers.

2: Provides Force Protection (FP) intelligence support to commanders and their staffs through current, all source intelligence products and briefings, focusing on terrorist capabilities, tactics, trends, courses of action and ongoing threat situation in the unit's area of interest.

Serves as a primary intelligence specialist assigned to the unit's Threat Working Group (TWG). 3: Serves as the unit authority on all aspects of internal intelligence training.

Works with the Intelligence senior ART/program manager in planning and organizing an intelligence program that provides timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.

4: Participates with the intelligence program manager in the establishment and management of the unit intelligence mobility program. Develop scenarios for unit training missions.

Creates and updates Threat of the Day files for mission planning study for peacetime and contingency operations.

5: Supports the intelligence program manager in planning and organizing an intelligence program that has the capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.

Represents the unit regarding intelligence program policies, procedures and issues.

Attends and participates in conferences, meetings and workshops as required, providing information or briefings on designated intelligence issues or topics.
