Base salary range: $88,520 - $115,079
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-12. Expert-level knowledge in field.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves researching and analyzing global issues like food security, humanitarian crises, and migration to help shape U.S.
foreign policy, including briefing high-level officials and leading team discussions.
A good fit would be someone with strong analytical skills and experience in international affairs, particularly in intelligence or policy work related to global emergencies.
It's ideal for experts who can collaborate across government agencies and communicate complex ideas clearly.
This position is in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 50 § 3024(v) and appointments are made without regard to the requirements of the Competitive Service by laws, Executive order, or OPM regulations.
This position is in the Multilateral, Transnational, & Human Rights Issues Division (MTR) of the Bureau of Intelligence & Research (INR) Office of the Geographer & Global Issues (GGI).
Provides analysis & briefings on civilian security, human rights, democracy, & related global issues.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing and advising on global food security and humanitarian emergencies across related disciplines.
Experience collaborating with the Intelligence Community to develop assessments, set priorities, and provide briefings on global food security and humanitarian emergencies impacting U.S.
foreign policy. Experience briefing senior policymakers and analyzing global food security and humanitarian emergencies.
Experience leading interagency groups to set intelligence priorities and analyze global food security and humanitarian emergencies.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position. Major Duties:
