Summary

This job involves reviewing and validating intelligence reports and programs for U.S. Customs and Border Protection to help secure the nation's borders.

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, National Border Security Intelligence Center Directorate, Operations Division, located in Washington DC.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Serving as a senior reviewer of an intelligence organization to evaluate, discuss, test, and validate intelligence research reports, and intelligence collection programs, plans; Recognizing intelligence requirements based on existing reporting and providing evaluations on current information to improve future intelligence collection or reporting; Extrapolating, compiling, and processing information from raw intelligence, open source, law enforcement and intelligence community systems and databases; Conducting special research studies and providing comprehensive assessments of broad, complex, or highly sensitive issues; Developing methods of evaluating the validity, accuracy, and reliability of a broad array and high volume of information.

Background Investigation: U.S.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

In this Intelligence Operations Specialist Collections Manager (CM) position you will serve as a technical authoritative expert in CM, supporting the CBP Collection Management (CM) process by performing various intelligence assignments/duties relating to CM - both Collection Requirements Management (CRM) and Collection Operations Management (COM) - within the CBP IE.

Typical Duties Include: Managing requirements as an All-Source Collection Requirements Management (CRM) subject matter expert from multiple intelligence disciplines in accordance with the Tasking, Collection, Production, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) process, which supports CBP analytical intelligence needs; Developing, validating, submitting, and managing all-source collection requirements utilizing various intelligence requirement systems; Applying an in-depth knowledge of all-source (Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT)) collection requirements management systems and research databases capabilities; Representing the organization on the coordination of issues with law enforcement and intelligence community partners; Preparing and presenting formal and informal briefs to senior level officials and groups while serving as an intelligence representative in forums and working groups related to intelligence collection and production issues.
