This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast-tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai’i.

Salary: $4,590 per month (SR-18, Step D)


Requirements

The Insurance Rate policy Analyst II in State service, analyzes insurance rates and policy provisions of routine cases and receives on-the-job training in more advanced methods.

Examples of Duties performed include but are not limited to the following:
Conducts analyses of cases such as individual disability and credit life policy filings, filings involving rule changes or changes in classifications and codes, independent insurer’s rate filings which are similar to those approved for bureau companies; examines proposed filings with existing filings; ascertains changes in proposed filings; studies justification and other available statistical data; discusses with the supervisor any deviations from the usual pattern; prepares reports of findings and recommendations for review and approval; performs appropriate research; and performs other related duties as assigned.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with six semester credits in statistics and/or mathematics.

Specialized Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional work experience in the analysis of insurance rates and policies including the examination of insurance rates and rating procedures for conformance with the insurance codes and rules and regulations and the examination of insurance policies for consistency, clarity, and proper coverage as required by the insurance codes and rules and regulations.
