Job Description
Summary
This job is for a psychology instructor at a community college, where you'll teach classes to diverse students, create and update course materials, and help with student advising and college events.

Key Requirements
- Master's degree in psychology or a master's in any field with at least 18 graduate hours in psychology
- Ph.D. in psychology preferred
- Experience teaching college-level psychology courses online and face-to-face
- Experience teaching dual enrollment students (high school students in college courses)
- Ability to develop, revise, and maintain course materials and curriculum
- Commitment to professional development and participation in college committees
- Willingness to teach on various campuses, including evenings, weekends, or via distance learning

Teach Psychology courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist with departmental administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.Teaching Performance – the ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.
Instructional Development – the development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.
Instructional management – the effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.
Student Advisement – the participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.
Professional Development – the participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.
College and/or Community Service – the participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.
