You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION (CODE S109) for the NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.
The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

GS-12: One year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Applying principles and methods for Network support, customer service support and Internet Support to ensure compliance with security requirements at the systems or LAN level.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Defining client requirements for new and modified systems and coordinating system design, implementation, and support in response to client requirements.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Delivering e-commerce and e-Government products and services to internal and external audiences.
Provides technical consultation to database developers in the development and implementation of Internet-enable databases. 4.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: utilizing judgment in gathering sufficient data, adapting techniques, developing specifications, and selecting utility programs and test data to accomplish specific projects.
In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing, implementing and coordinating operations designed to ensure, protect and restore complex IT systems, services and capabilities; Experience serving as a network administrator defining and executing complex network activities to support the continuous availability of an organizations local area network; Experience developing and refining internet services; and Experience installing and diagnosing and resolving complex system, network or server issues.
