Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

This job involves working as an IT specialist focused on information security for the Navy in Naples, Italy, where you'll help protect computer systems by creating security plans, checking for risks, and fixing problems to keep everything running safely.
It's ideal for someone with a couple of years in IT security who pays close attention to details, communicates well with teams and users, and enjoys solving technical issues in a government or military setting.
You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) of NAVSUPPACT NAPLES Italy.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Develop information assurance testing plans, methodologies, and procedures to validate baselines and security postures of IT systems.
Provide Cybersecurity/Information Assurance (IA) best practice validation of designs, plans, tests, and deployment of resilient Enterprise Cybersecurity/IA systems while adhering to all mandated standards and procedures.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Respond to customer's needs for information and assistance to ensure optimal IT system availability, interoperability, and functionality.
Interface with systems engineers to ensure proper system integration into the enterprise security architecture. 3.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identify system and program capacities to support the operational staff. 4.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Advise system administrators and developers on addressing and resolving deficiencies.
Participate in on-site surveys to determine status of security services provided by the Cybersecurity/IA architecture, including physical access controls.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Supporting the development of Information Assurance (IA) documentation for the certification and accreditation of IT systems.
2) Recommending and implementing information assurance and network security policy. 3) Ensuring that new and existing systems and applications meet all IA requirements.
4) Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments. 5) Providing organizational IA customer support by diagnosing system malfunctions and resolving reported problems.
