Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves designing, building, and maintaining web portals and information systems for the U.S. Navy's Fleet Forces Command, with a focus on supporting users on land and at sea.
You'll analyze what users need, provide training and help, and ensure systems share information effectively across the fleet.

You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INET) in the N611 IM & PORTAL SYSTEMS, HQ IT SUPPORT SERVICES BRANCH in the DIRECTOR MARITIME OPERATIONS of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.
To qualify for a GS-12, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Experience developing, managing, and supporting web portals and information management systems.
- Experience providing training and customer support for web applications to users both ashore and afloat.
- Experience facilitating information and knowledge sharing through information technology solutions.
- Experience analyzing user needs to ensure web applications meet the requirements of fleet components.
In addition to specialized experience you must reflect one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving, as defined: 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing solutions within enterprise portal platforms and business automation tools by configuring forms, workflow automation processes, and visual dashboards when detailed specifications are provided.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Creating schedule for the training team and provides training and customer support, as required, to USFF Headquarters Staff and Fleet personnel.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
