Job Description

Summary

This job involves using advanced digital tools to create and edit 3D images and models, especially for Navy ship projects, simulations, and training materials.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: creating and designing technical digital visual materials (e.g., 3D imaging, photogrammetry, AR/VR/XR, technical visual information products) and providing advice and consultation to customers in support of engineering, production, training materials and technical and management decisions.

Examples of qualifying experience: providing on-site troubleshooting with limited resources, developing new or adapted capture techniques, planning and executing complex missions with multiple types of unmanned systems (i.e., ROV, UAV) and managing the end-to-end processing workflow for large-scale, high-precision datasets.

  • You will use professional digital scanning, photogrammetry and editing software to produce, process, correct, model and modify point cloud data, for ship architectural records, active projects, simulations, education and communication.
  • You will analyze and optimize images with local changes or measurements, geometric manipulation or image alterations.
  • You will build scripts in software for automating image processing and data analysis or capture.
  • You will prepare finished 3D imagery for distribution t a variety of business interests, including ship architecture, project visualization, historic preservation, building information management and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • You will use computers to edit and manipulate 3D imagery 360 imagery, and remote capture imagery to produce special products for us by engineers in planning projects.
