This job involves maintaining and repairing industrial equipment at a naval facility in North Carolina, including troubleshooting issues, disassembling and testing machinery, and using math and blueprints to plan fixes.
It's ideal for hands-on mechanics with practical experience in electrical and mechanical repairs who enjoy problem-solving in a technical shop environment.
No specific years of experience are required, but you need to demonstrate strong skills through past work or training.
You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Disassembling equipment, connecting power sources performing operational and functional test to ensure proper operation of systems; 2) Demonstrating shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices in problem solving and calculating needed material; 3) Soldering, mechanical and electrical placement hookup of parts in large chassis according to shop practices and procedures.
