This job involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced electrical and electronic systems in a naval aviation facility, often working independently on complex equipment.

You will serve as a Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair state-of-the art electrical/electronic systems 2) Perform troubleshooting and repair techniques to newly installed or modified electrical/electronic systems often incorporating unusual requirements; 3) Advise engineering and facilities personnel on system upgrades and modifications and complete paperwork; 4) Assemble and arrange a variety of stimulus and test equipment to operate system subassemblies and components in a "stand alone" process for troubleshooting and repair; 5) Apply experience with aviation depot-level equipment to troubleshoot electronic equipment to full functionality; 6) Interpret and apply electrical/electronic flow charts, schematics, specifications, truth tables, to include mechanical/hydraulic blueprint and drawings, to perform troubleshooting and repair Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification Handbook for Trades and Labor Occupations.
