Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping managers in the U.S. Marine Corps hire and place civilian employees by giving advice on recruitment, spotting staffing issues, and handling paperwork for new hires.

It's based in Japan at a Marine Corps base, so it's ideal for someone with HR experience who is comfortable working overseas and dealing with limited medical access.

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/PLACMENT in the US STAFFING DIVISION ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Advising on Federal Civilian recruitment planning to managers, analyzing problems regarding Federal Civilian HR staffing matters to include searching regulations and studying past cases, drafting a formal letter or an endorsement, advising assistants regarding recruitment and staffing issues.

  • You will provide recruitment, placement, and related management advisory services for assigned organizations and maintain open communication with managers and supervisors in order to identify personnel management needs.
  • You will coordinate with supervisors, managers, and other Human Resource Specialists on possible staffing repercussions of reorganizations, placement actions, or regulatory changes.
  • You will Identify under-represented skills in the workforce, and determine how they can be addressed in the recruitment process and coordinate local, DoN/USMC, Priority Placement Programs, and Office of Personnel Management priorities for positions.
  • You will review progress toward achieving objective and provide feedback to management regarding trends and/or changes to enhance achievement of these objectives.
  • You will process a variety of requests for personnel action to fill such positions and to career promote, reassign, or otherwise place employees.
