This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Interpreting and applying recruitment and placement laws, regulations, policies, and practices to provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and applicants Performing work that involves recruiting, examining, selecting and placing employees; Utilizing human resources policies and practices to advise management in attracting a high quality workforce Providing expert advisory in recruitment and placement laws, regulations, policies, and practices to provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and applicants Recommending and developing innovative approaches and strategies to resolve unprecedented recruitment and placement problems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
As a Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment) at the GS-0201-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Advising and assisting Supervisors and Managers with recruitment and placement services to a large multi-mission and dynamic organization comprised of Excepted and Competitive Service Appointees.
Incumbent is responsible for reviewing/interpreting HR law/policy and developing and/or revising the office staffing operations plan as necessary.
Ensuring SharePoint and New Hire Websites are maintained with relevant up to date information to serve as an online resource for employees and potential candidates.
Provide a variety of recruitment, staffing and placement functions such as: preparing and/or reviewing Requests for Personnel Actions; responding to data calls or official inquiries and providing strategic advisory on various methods.
Performing on-boarding duties by utilizing USA Staffing to initiate on-boarding functions.
