Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1622000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (ANG -145th FSS).

Military Grades: Enlisted (E4 - E7) Minimum Requirements: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management.

Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs.

Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee.

Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency.

Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments.

Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data.

Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs. Major Duties:

  • As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) (TITLE 32), GS-0201-9, you will plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff CSS; oversee Group programs to facilitate the Group and squadron commander's vision; keep abreast of and briefs the Group and squadron senior Commander regarding assigned program status; actual or potential problems and changes that could possibly affect the operation of the group and subordinate units; recommend redirection of assets if necessary to achieve improved overall mission effectiveness; oversee workflow and tasking to ensure personnel and administrative processes are completed as required; review organization mission, functions, and manning requirements; identify requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives; prepare the preparation and review of outgoing correspondence for conformance with Air Force instructions, policies, format, and assembly; for accuracy of spelling, punctuation, form, grammar; and for completeness of reports and correspondence; integrate Information Technology into Group Staff operations; assist the Unit Training Manager in managing the unit training program and all subsequent listed duties within this section; serve as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the Force Support Squadron.
