Summary

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Assisting in advising senior leaders on personnel policies, workforce management, and staffing and data requirements to guide comprehensive personnel actions; AND 2.) Assisting researching and developing plans, policies, and procedures to enhance workforce coordination and maintain compliance with organizational requirements; AND 3.) Supporting recruitment and staffing activities, including advising hiring managers on personnel policies to ensure compliant and equitable hiring practices.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Establishes goals and objectives, develops project deadlines, and identifies resources available to execute mission assignments. 1 = Position Description
  • Serves as the Command's functional and technical expert for all matters that pertain to human resources (military and civilian) personnel management, administration and career development.
  • Establishes standards, develops operating policies, programs, procedures, and long-range plans, and provides technical guidance.
  • Manages and directs the personnel management program for all personnel (commissioned officers, warrant officers, noncommissioned officers, enlisted, and civilian personnel) assigned to the unit.
  • Conducts officer, enlisted and civilian strength management and keeps the command informed.
