To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: One full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement.
Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in providing guidance to employees on military service deposits and civilian service deposits/redeposits.
Experience in answering technical federal benefits questions. Experience in providing guidance to employees on basic retirement eligibility and creditable service.
Proficient with maintaining logs, reports, and tracking systems to support an office work flow. Ability to effectively prioritize task and assignments to avoid oversight.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: Have a combination of education and experience.
This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.

**Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.** Major Duties:
Interprets and explains to employees issues related to retirement, creditable service and military buy-backs.
Performs administrative human resources (HR) functions in furtherance of the mission and objectives of the Consolidated Benefits Unit (CBU).
Provides HR services related to personnel, HR record keeping and maintenance, assists benefits specialists with other benefit related assignments, and computes/verifies service computation date (SCD)s for all staff within the Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
Reviews and processes requests for military buy-backs actions ensuring all requests include required supporting documentation and comply with all human resources laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
