Job Description

Summary

This entry-level human resources assistant role in the Navy involves supporting personnel records, processing employee actions, and providing customer service to military staff through phone, email, and in-person interactions.

GS-05 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Examining, evaluating and extracting information needed to process a variety of personnel actions for all categories of personnel; 2) Maintaining, formatting,verifying content and use of personnel records; 3) Utilizing personnel databases to research, update, and process personnel actions; and 4) Collaberating with invdiviuals, departments and other organizations to obtain information required.

GS-04 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of generalized experience demonstrating progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.

  • You will evaluate and authenticate documents for record support.
  • You will interpret policies and procedures regarding eligibility requirements, benefits for personnel actions.
  • You will identify, correct and verify inaccurate information in personnel systems.
