This job involves helping a naval command in California with hiring new employees and organizing job roles to support the team's mission.
You'll advise managers on finding and keeping the right talent, review past hiring methods, and ensure positions are properly classified.
It's a good fit for someone with HR experience in recruitment and classification who enjoys strategic planning and problem-solving in a government setting.
You will serve as a HR SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/CLASSIFICATION) in the Commanding Officer, Command Operations Department, and Human Capital Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Applying progressive human resources theories, principles, laws, rules, and regulations to assist management in designing, developing, and implementing HR strategic plans to recruit, develop, and retain the talent needed to accomplish the assigned mission; (2) Utilizing classification principles and concepts to interpret and apply classification standards/guides to reach sound classification decisions; (3) Reviewing pay and recruitment actions to determine types of appointments and their appropriate application in both the competitive and excepted service; and (4) Utilizing data base systems, e.g.
DCPDS and USA Staffing, to accomplish recruitment, classification, and agency goals and objectives.
