Full Job Description

You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the IT DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and carrying out difficult and complex assignments; 2) Providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues; 3) Providing technical leadership on group projects; 4) Drafting IT policies and plans and participating in the IT capital planning process; 5) Integrating cybersecurity, procurement, and operational requirements into lab planning to ensure continuity of operations for mission-critical engineering workflows; and 6) Interpreting IT policies, standards, and guidelines.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • You will monitor software license use and track denials of service and underutilized licenses to support software planning and procurement.
  • You will work with user management to plan for changing workload which impacts lab hardware, software, planning and budget.
  • You will design or conduct analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, or other research.
  • You will coordinate among lab personnel and users to provide products and solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
  • You will develop or implement information systems security plans and procedures.
  • You will purchase or contract for IT services, equipment, products, supplies, property, or other items.
  • You will lead cross-functional working groups composed of engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and logisticians to align lab requirements with evolving digital transformation directives.
