Full Job Description

You will serve as an AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the Air Systems Group, Air Vehicle Engineering Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-9/11) grade level or (DP-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) A working knowledge of the structural design, development and testing process for aircraft and associated weapon systems.

(2) Knowledge and application of structural analysis techniques used for aircraft design. (3) Evaluation of proposed structural designs to determine strengths and weaknesses.

(4) Provision of technical expertise to stakeholders, customers, and higher authorities on structural integrity issues; and (5) Liaison with others to ensure that Program needs are addressed.

  • You will perform technical work in the planning and development of technical team structure and composition, system requirements development and management, configuration baseline management and risk management.
  • You will ensure performance measurement and tracking across the spectrum of aircraft/unmanned aerial vehicle platforms to achieve an integrated, balanced total system that meets cost, schedule, and performance objectives over the entire life cycle.
  • You will advise on, administer, or perform professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with engineering or architectural projects, facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, material or methods.
  • You will work on varied, complex equipment systems associated with research, innovation, or reengineering assignments and demonstrates competence and creativity in developing new concepts and new uses of material/hardware/software/tactics.
  • You will provide technically sound advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of systems or concept development.
  • You will develop or test new equipment or material that significantly adds to the operability and usefulness of existing or new equipment/systems having new features.
  • You will formulate approaches using knowledge or related projects to resolve a variety of nonrecurring technological problems.
