TALENT ACQUISITION AND EMPLOYEE ONBOARDING: Ensures equitable hiring practices through the implementation of the institution's talent acquisition procedures.
Oversees the institution's talent acquisition and recruitment process, including placing job advertisements, training/supporting hiring committees, and scheduling interviews.
Collaborates with hiring committees and departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Ensures all employees are successfully and effectively onboarded, fostering engagement and retention from the start of employment.
HR OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT: Performs routine and complex tasks required to administer and execute human resource actions, including but not limited to processing personnel action forms related to compensation, benefits, and leave.
Processes all HR actions for all employees regardless of employment status. Liaises with the appropriate personnel at the Department of Administration to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Participates in the annual HR audit and provides all requisite documentation. Ensures all employees are successfully and effectively offboarded.
PAYROLL MANAGEMENT AND PERSONNEL ACTIONS: Routinely drafts and sends communications regarding payroll issues, such as annual W-2 communications and leave and time entry requirements.
Responds to routine and complex payroll questions and liaises with the Department of Administration to ensure the accuracy of the institution's personnel actions and payroll.
Implements systems and processes to routinely audit payroll with the goal of minimizing errors and enhancing operational efficiency.
Directly answers payroll questions for all employees in a timely and accurate manner. Submits all personnel actions and ensures those actions are processed by external agencies.
Coordinates annual faculty step increase notifications. Maintains an internal database of all HR actions.
BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION: Develops and communicates resources to help employees maximize their benefits.
Assists employees with questions regarding benefits and refers employees to appropriate external agencies as necessary. Coordinates the annual health screening and retirement informational session.
POLICY MANAGEMENT AND PERSONNEL RECORD MANAGEMENT: Manages and maintains the institution's HR-related policies and procedures.
Ensures institutional compliance with all state HR regulations and requirements. Maintains and updates employee personnel files. Updates the Employee Handbook annually.
Implements the annual employee performance management system and ensures institutional compliance.
Makes recommendations regarding HR policies and procedures to the Director of Business Operations and Vice President for Finance and Operations.
TRAINING COORDINATION AND DEVELOPMENT: Supports the development of optional training programs to enhance employee growth and engagement. Serves as a program contact for all mandatory training.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and nonmandatory training as required. Performs other duties as required.
