Job Description

Summary

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting and evaluating individual strength and conditioning programs; maintaining and conducting inventory of fitness equipment; and utilizing effective marketing techniques to ensure maximum participation in support of mission objectives.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will educate service members on proper fitness, injury prevention, nutrition, and proper execution of physical training that impacts readiness.
  • You will conduct program evaluations, consolidate data, provide reports, and track trends to assess and improve fitness program effectiveness.
  • You will ensure staff certifications are current, training is performed as required, and the necessary logistical and fiscal support is provided to staff.
  • You will maintain liaison with federal, state, and local recreation oriented organizations, recreation counterparts at other military installations and onboard commands to coordinate activities and future plans.
  • You will schedule and coordinate publicity of fitness programs and events using various methods of marketing and promotion.
  • You will coordinate issuance, maintenance, and upkeep of all fitness equipment.
