Key Requirements

- Respond to inquiries, requests, complaints, and Constituent Relationship Management cases from residents and contractors
- Maintain clean, safe work areas and adhere to safety regulations; available for any assigned shift, location, or emergency
Full Job Description
Under general supervision, operates and has responsibility for one of a wide variety of heavy motor equipment not requiring a special license (other than a Commercial Driver's License) or unusual skill, such as dump trucks, street sweepers, snowplows, sanders, etc.
Requirements
Operate light and heavy motorized and hydraulic equipment such as heavy trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, tractors, sweepers, pavers, rollers, bucket trucks, and other equipment
Perform some routine and skilled laboring duties at intermediate levels
Prepare routine records, logs, and reports
Respond to daily inquiries, requests, and complaints from residents, contractors, etc.
Operate snow plowing, removal, sanding, and salting equipment
Maintain work areas in a clean, safe, and operable condition and adhere to applicable safety and health rules and regulations
Responds to and handles Constituent Relationship Management cases.
May use mobile technology to communicate with supervisors and inspectors regarding Constituent Relationship Management cases
Supports other Public Works Divisions as requested.
Performs related work as required.
Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee
Qualifications
Must possess any and all licenses required by the Mass. Dept. of Public Safety to operate any heavy motor equipment, including a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Boston Residency Required.
