Full Job Description

Under general supervision, operates and has responsibility for one of a wide variety of special heavy motor equipment requiring a Commercial Driver's License & a Hoisting License and/or requiring unusual skill.

Requirements

May be responsible for the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of equipment.
Responsible for the maintenance, security, and operation of assigned specialty vehicles.
Loads and unloads trucks; picks up and hauls material.
Complete required forms and reports.
Responds to and handles Constituent Relationship Management (CMR) cases.
May use mobile technology to communicate with supervisors and inspectors regarding Constituent Relationship Management (CMR) cases
Supports other Public Works Divisions as requested.
Performs related work as required.
Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee

Qualifications

Must possess any and all licenses required by the Mass. Dept. of Public Safety to operate any special heavy motor equipment, including a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and a Hoisting License.

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED.

Additional Information

Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift, in any assigned location.
Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and be able to focus on detail as required by the job.
