Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of mechanics in repairing and maintaining heavy mobile equipment and weapon systems for the U.S.

Marine Corps, including installing parts and ensuring high-quality work. As a working leader, you'll perform hands-on repairs while guiding others and stepping in as supervisor when needed.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will perform all maintenance functions required for all equipment and weapon systems processed through the Maintenance Center Forward in support of several significant Marine Corps wide programs.
  • You will fit and install parts, such as pistons, valves, bearing, gears, and cylinders to appropriate tolerances, makes changes or modifications in accordance with specifications and guidelines.
  • You will perform duties as the Working Leader for other Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanics, other journeymen, workers, and helpers.
  • You will act as the Supervisor in the absence of the supervisor.
  • You will be required to maintain a Technician Certification, which is required to inspect own workmanship and the quality of the product worked / processed.
  • You will ensure any related delays are properly and accurately recorded and/or reported in accordance with local policy and procedures.
