WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Grants Administrator 3 (GA 3) is the lead grant administrator for all grants awarded by the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (CDVSA). Key responsibilities include administering and managing over 100 sub-awards funded through a combination of multi-year federal and state general funds. The GA 3 oversees grantee financial compliance monitoring, develops and coordinates the grantee solicitation process, utilizes grant management software to administer and track required documentation, and works with federal and state auditors to ensure compliance with federal and state fiscal requirements. The GA 3 works closely with a GA 1/2 and Admin Operations Manager to provide administrative support activities related to the disbursement of funds to community organizations to support the mission of CDVSA.

Additionally, CDVSA has built a comprehensive, interconnected system of services accessible to all Alaskans that promotes safety and decreases domestic and sexual violence, working toward an Alaska free of domestic and sexual violence. The mission of the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, located within the Department of Public Safety, is to promote the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault through a statewide system of support, safety, intervention, education, and accountability and healing for those who cause harm. THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:

CDVSA is located in beautiful downtown Juneau, Alaska, with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and the waterfront boardwalk. CDVSA is located in the Community Building, a secure building at the intersection of Third and Main Street. The offices are open and welcoming, with space for team interactions, as well as individual space for independent work. The work environment is friendly, supportive, team-oriented, and focused on accomplishing the important work of CDVSA. Work schedules are flexible as long as they fall within the State of Alaska business hours. Additionally, CDVSA provides the opportunity, depending on the needs of the office, and the suitability of position and staff, for team members to request a hybrid work schedule combining in-office and up to 2-days of telework per week. Weekly staff meetings are held to promote communication, collaboration, and camaraderie.

Requirements

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.
