This job involves managing the daily operations of a golf course and bowling center on an Air Force base in North Dakota, including handling budgets, staff, events, and facility improvements to support military quality-of-life programs.

About the position: This is a NAF Career Program position assigned to Minot ARB, ND This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions managed by a golf course or bowling center manager.

Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience, specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military golf course and/or bowling center operation.

The experience must include responsibility or supervision over the various phases of a golf course or bowling center operation.

Specialized experience must be at a level that shows the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

A Professional Golf Association (PGA) Class A certificate and/or a Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA) military management certificate is desirable.

Substitution for general and specialized experience: A Professional Golf Management degree from a PGA accredited Professional Golf Management School or a Professional Bowling degree in an accredited College or University may be substituted for all general and specialized experience.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Qualifying Experience Specialized Experience Substitution of Experience Major Duties:

This position is to serve as the installation Golf and Bowling Facility Manager responsible for planning, directing, and organizing the business resources to successfully operate both facilities and support of the installation commander's quality of life programs.

Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of the golf course and bowling center facilities and activities.

Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational, and promotional programs for golf course and bowling center.

Establishes, reviews, and evaluates food service and purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Establishes financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area or region.

Prepares budget, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial condition of the golf course and bowling center. Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training.

Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction.

Promotes, organizes, schedules, and conducts tournaments, matches, open and league bowling, special events, and daily activities. Conducts or ensures conduct of golf lessons and bowling classes.

Ensures course, putting green, chipping practice area, golf carts, and rental equipment are correctly maintained.

Ensures maintenance and preventive maintenance are performed on all bowling - related facility and equipment. Ensures appropriate golf and bowling equipment and supplies are on hand.

Oversees the operation of golf and bowling pro shop and/or snack bar. Performs other related duties as assigned.
