Summary

This job involves managing and tracking military supplies and equipment at a U.S.

Army base in New Mexico, including conducting inventories, fixing record errors, and ensuring everything follows army rules.

Key Requirements

About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in establishing and/or maintaining hand receipts; 2) Conducting inventories of accountable property; 3) Utilizing an automated property management system to maintain accountability of property assets; and 4) Resolving property management issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- Education: Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Management or another related field.

-OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Major Duties:

  • Manage Property assets utilizing the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army).
  • Reports property records discrepancies and adjusts property records in accordance with local policy.
  • Performs annual, 100% inventory of all accountable.
  • Serves as the Accountable Property Officer (APO) with responsibility for overall management, direction, and control of the Installation Property Book Office.
  • Implements local policies and procedures for property book management, ensuring compliance with established regulations.
  • Prepare detailed analyses, reports, and studies in support of the property book program's operations.
  • Develop employee performance standards to evaluate work for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to policies.
