Full Job Description

This employee will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, controlling, and repairing electromechanical systems (e.g. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, generators, lighting, safety systems, and other associated building systems.

Job Duties Include:
  • Maintaining electromechanical systems in working order by performing preventative maintenance to maximize equipment efficiency, minimize downtime, and maintain reliability, performance and lifespan.
  • Performing repairs in-house or working with vendors for timely repairs.
  • Identifying potential system inefficiencies and working with vendors, utilities, and CP manager on improvements.
  • Replacing filters in all air handler systems including greasing and belt inspections.
  • Maintaining emergency generators and performing weekly test runs.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, pleasant, and well functioning workplace for program staff office spaces (HVAC, lighting, icemakers, etc.)
  • Making daily rounds, and taking and logging readings to ensure proper function of gauges and equipment.
  • Monitoring major building systems for normal operation conditions.
  • Reporting any safety-related issues and working to resolve issues.
  • Ensuring inspection and ongoing compliance with all applicable code and OSHA regulations.
  • Using appropriate signage to warn staff of hazard situations and using Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures where required.
  • Serving as either primary or secondary after-hours contact (depending on schedule).

Requirements

A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience in a related trades area or general building maintenance.

This position requires being available to perform emergency work seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day when on call.

Qualifications

Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to lift heavy objects, and climb ladders. Ability to read manuals and schematics, have strong communication skills, and work well as a team. Ability to work in inclement weather. Basic computer skills.
