The SCCB is currently recruiting for a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance Tech II to provide general supervision, the General Maintenance Tech II provides general maintenance of the Business Enterprise Program (BEP) vending equipment and performs maintenance of stand locations throughout the State.T hese duties include but are not limited to:

  • Complete work order repairs for vending equipment in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine or as-needed visual inspection of structural components of the stand that may need repair, renovation, or replacement.
  • Under the supervision of the Lead Vending Technician, determine when to procure services of outside contractors in accordance with State procurement procedures.
  • Ensure records are maintained on equipment, parts, transfer documents, and repair history within the BEP AWARE system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment.

Agency: A high school diploma and one (1) year of experience in related trades or crafts area or general building maintenance or vending machine repair experience.

Knowledge of vending machines, and electronic equipment, including maintenance and repair. Considerable knowledge of standard electronic circuitry, and standard electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, frequency counters transistor testers, and logic analyzers. Ability to troubleshoot standard electronic equipment using blueprints and schematics, distinguish colors, and maintain spare parts inventory. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to work independently under general supervision.

This position requires extensive travel statewide on a daily basis and the ability to pull, lift, push, or carry approximately 100 pounds. Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Required to be On-call 1 weekend per month. Occasional overnight travel.
